Rich Piana has passed away at the age of 46 after being over two weeks in a induced medical coma. The District Six Medical Examiner in Florida confirms Piana passed away early Friday morning at the hospital.
The ex-wife of celebrity body builder Rich Piana has said that he has died after being placed in a coma earlier this month. Taking to Instagram, Sara Piana wrote: I’m in tears writing this that @1dayumay has just passed away. I can can hardly believe this… I am so saddened & heartbroken that he didn’t make it.”

Rich has been in a medically induced coma for the past week. Paramedics found crushed white powder on his table along with a credit card and a straw upon entering his home. This led the paramedics to give Rich 2 doses of Narcan (used to treat opiate overdoses) to try and revive him.
Unfortunately, Rich never regained consciousness and was then transported to a nearby hospital where he was later put into a medically induced coma.
Many elite bodybuilders have paid tribute to Rich Piana after hearing about his death.

Rich Piana was the winner of bodybuilding competitions in Los Angeles in 2003 and Sacramento in 2009. While Rich no longer competed in bodybuilding competitions, he had a massive following online with more than 1.2million followers on Instagram – who he inspired to push their bodies to greater feats.
