BREAKING: Rich Piana has died

Rich Piana has passed away at the age of 46 after being over two weeks in a induced medical coma. The District Six Medical Examiner in Florida confirms Piana passed away early Friday morning at the hospital.

The ex-wife of celebrity body builder Rich Piana has said that he has died after being placed in a coma earlier this month. Taking to Instagram, Sara Piana wrote: I’m in tears writing this that @1dayumay has just passed away. I can can hardly believe this… I am so saddened & heartbroken that he didn’t make it.”

Rich has been in a medically induced coma for the past week. Paramedics found crushed white powder on his table along with a credit card and a straw upon entering his home. This led the paramedics to give Rich 2 doses of Narcan (used to treat opiate overdoses) to try and revive him.

Unfortunately, Rich never regained consciousness and was then transported to a nearby hospital where he was later put into a medically induced coma.

Many elite bodybuilders have paid tribute to Rich Piana after hearing about his death.

This man has changed my life, put food on my family's plate and gave me an opportunity when I was a nobody. He saw in me potential and placed his belief in me. I strongly believe that if it wasn't for Rich I wouldn't be doing what I am today. The film's have come along as my success under 5% has grown. Words can not explain what love and respect I have for @1dayumay. He was a special man and his name will live on. The family has lost its dad, but we are strong and I know with my passion and love for the team and the strength of my team we will rise and grow. Rich planted a seed, I will make sure that seed flourishes into the most amazing flower! We are far more than a company. We are a family ! I have had many hours of deep conversation with Rich and I know exactly what this company means to him! What's insane is it was 2 years ago in Vegas he told me his plans for me. To now be back 2 years later, without the man by my side to do this, just know I will make you proud brother. Thank you for all you have done for me, I will never forget you and your 'whaaat up' miss you brother so much already. God best have some big ass weights up there for you and Dallas sure has taken 2 of the best from us. #mymate #toosoon #family #hero #bossman #1dayyoumay

Just last week his girlfriend, Chanel Jansen, posted a photo of her hand holding his and asked for ‘positive thoughts’ from fans.

The world wide outpouring to send Rich voicemails and messages to have played or read to him is overwhelming!❤ We can't thank you all enough for your continued support during this time. To those who have been so respectful and come to his defense when others have been disgusting excuses for human beings -THANK YOU! The only update I'm permitted to give at this time is that he is alive, he is ok, and the excellent medical professionals here as well as myself and his close loved ones are doing all we can to get him back to a full recovery. Please continue to remain patient and respectful. This is a very stressful time for Rich and everyone around him so please understand if we're quiet it's with good reason. #myoneandonly #richpiana #loveofmylife #whateverittakes #love #strength #prayersforpiana #positive #5percenters #respect #loyalty #positivevibes #positivevibesonly @1dayumay
