Instagram removed this woman’s weight loss post for a ridiculous reason

A 19-year-old student, Morgan Bartley from Ventura, California, USA, documented her weight loss by posting photos on her Instagram page.

Imagine her surprise when she discovered that her photo was taken from her profile without any explanation. The situation was especially offensive to the girl because of the fact that indeed candid pictures of girls from other profiles aren’t removed at all.

At the age of 15, Morgan was diagnosed with an ovarian torsion (twisting of the ovary), which caused her to lose one ovary. The doctors assured her that she would never be able to have children, and despite her early age, the girl fell into depression and developed an eating disorder, which made her stout for 30 kg.

“I was overweight as young as I can remember. Life has been hard,” she says. “It was all things I couldn’t control.”

“It seemed that my body failed me, and I can no longer influence my life. Overeating was the only thing I could control, and this was my salvation from problems,” she said.

At age 17, Morgan firmly decided that she wants to regain control of her body and save her life. She underwent an operation to reduce weight. She dramatically changed her diet, began to attend the gym, as well as regularly visit the doctors. All this led to an impressive loss of 52 kg.

“I realized: there are so many things that I want to do in my life, and I’ll be damned if my weight is the thing that prevents me,” she says.

“At times the support I’ve received has been the only thing that’s kept me going.”

The girl shared many photos in swimsuits, but they were all harmless and reflected the progress of her weight loss. Therefore, she was deeply surprised to find that the comparative side-by-side photo, in which she lost 52 kg, was removed from her page.

Apparently, someone complained about the photo, and it was quickly deleted without any discussions. The description of the girl’s photo says:

“Somebody took their time to report this photo and have it deleted. I think it sucks that people express negativity toward something with only positive intentions, BUT that’s why we peep full of love, and light get to make a difference.

Never let worldly pessimism or judgment prevent you from living your life and celebrating what you’ve done with it.

So yeah, I’ve lost over 110 pounds, and I think I look pretty freakin bomb in a bathing suit on the beach, and that’s after a lifetime of letting insecurities hold me back from experiencing life. Yes, I’ll continue to wear a full face of makeup to the beach, and yes, I’ll continue to be DAMN proud of who I’ve worked so hard to become.”

Unfortunately, Morgan is not fated to find out why Instagram deleted her photo, and who complained it.
