Simon Hooper, the father of 4 daughters, decided to show what parenting really looks like.
The way he took was posting hilarious snaps on Instagram of his lovely four pairs of wandering feet, four hungry and demanding mouths to feed as well as four heads of hair to tie up for school.
“My whole account is to show a realistic view of what parenting is like from a parent’s perspective,” the dad told HuffPost. “There is way too much sugarcoating when it comes to parents, so I wanted to share what it’s really like and provide a bit of humor at the same time.”
The Hoopers – or “Father of Daughters” and “Mother of Daughters” as they are known on Instagram have four girls: Anya, Marnie, Ottilie, and Delilah, between the ages of 16 months and nine. Parents believe that openly discussing things like Raising a Puppy and a Newborn Baby at the Same time or failing at something as parents are essential, considering it helps the enormous number of fellow parents who follow them.
As The Telegraph reports, Simon joined the fray because he wanted to “cut through the sugar coating” of family life you often see on social media. He indeed does this: his account is a riot of messy rooms, half-drunk baby bottles, and small children sprawled, piled and crammed into every space. It’s family life in all its full-on.
And it’s never surprising that his account has already reached 864,000 online followers.
